Starter cultures should be fine during shipping. We send a shipping confirmation e-mail with tracking information once the package leaves our warehouse so that you'll know when to expect delivery. Although most carriers are usually accurate, there have been occasions of packages arriving earlier than the estimated date, so be sure to check before as well.
Warm Weather Shipping:
The best thing to do is get the cultures in the refrigerator as soon as possible after delivery. Avoid allowing the package to sit in a hot mailbox or out in the sun all day. Perhaps have a neighbor pick up the package, have it shipped to your workplace, or even leave a cooler with ice packs and a note for the mail carrier.
Cold Weather Shipping:
Starter cultures will be fine during shipping. We recommend cold storage for long term storage of many cultures, so they should not be damaged during winter months.
